happy new year

2014I gave up resolutions last year when I found that my seasonal “bucket lists” help me accomplish more and give me variety throughout the year. But I still have hopes for what a new year will bring. These are not anything that I plan to measure or document, just what I hope might happen in 2014. Clearly they are all over the place, but what an amazing year would it be if all it all were to happen?

  • I hope I finally learn to give up dairy for good.
  • I hope our home has more on the wall that we love by the end of the year.
  • I hope the Sounders win the MLS cup.
  • I hope we bring home a baby or are well on way to doing so.
  • I hope to see more of Washington than I have in the last 2.5 years.
  • I hope there are too many walks with my little family to count.
  • I hope to make more time for friends.
  • I hope to travel somewhere new.
  • I hope to keep improving how I communicate with my husband.
  • I hope we have another long summer.
  • I hope to get my family on FaceTime regularly.
  • I hope there the year involves a lot of sun + palm trees.
  • I hope to put many more miles on my sewing machine.
  • I hope to buy fresh flowers more often.
  • I hope I can keep the top of my half of the dresser clean.
  • I hope I were lounge wear outside of the house less often.
  • I hope I read a few really good books and don’t force myself to finish crappy ones.
  • I hope I have a full Project Life album at the end of the year.
  • I hope we go to bed earlier and get more rest.
  • I hope we laugh, cry, joke, love, hug, and kiss with abandon.

Regardless of what happens or doesn’t, I’m sure 2014 will be wonderful in it’s own way. Here’s to a year of amazingness, however it comes.
