Holy August, Batman.
The last four weeks have been crazy, to say the least. With five days noticed (after three months of waiting and the day after I wrapped up planning and executing a weekend event for 250+ people), I jumped on a plane and started a job in Seattle. With all my belongings still in SF. I’ve spent Monday to Friday in a new city, living in a new apartment, driving a borrowed car on new freeways, and learning a new industry at a new client. Then on Fridays I take a late night flight back to SF and pack / clean / load a giant container / try to make time to say good-bye to the people I’ll miss. On Sunday I fly back and start again.
Needless to say, I haven’t eaten any organ meats yet this month. I’ve only completed one Crossfit WOD. I’ve sadly consumed diet Dr. Pepper like it’s my part-time job (what do they put in that s*** to make it so addictive?!?!). I’ve gone back and forth on clean eating (minus the soda). Some days are better than others. I’ve drunk WAY. TOO. MUCH. red wine. I’m currently detoxing and not sure yet when I’ll let myself venture back into the world of alcohol.
But, it is finally over. The final piece of the big move happens on Friday when G and I meet in SF (because we never fly from the same location to the same location!), crash at a Holiday Inn by the airport, then pick-up my car early Saturday morning and spend three lovely days driving up the Oregon Coast. We are super excited for the mini vacation. Between my move and his crazy August travel schedule, or conversations of late have pretty much involved “Should I take this load to Goodwill now?” or “A package arrived at the front desk, do you want me to pick it up?”. Exciting stuff.
I miss my blog and I miss the accountability of posting my daily food, so I’m going to try to get back to that starting tomorrow. It’s probably boring to others, but since I am not a journaler or scrapbooker, I like having the record of what all we’ve been up to and a place to store a few pictures. I also will write about my monthly challenges (organ meat has been moved to September and I love, love, love the oil cleansing method).
That about sums it up for me. I’m looking forward to getting to know Seattle better and G and I are looking forward to the extra time we’ll have from not traveling 24/7 and maybe even taking on a hobby or two.
