Yesterday started and ended well, but the middle is embarrassing to admit to the world (where “world” = Mom). After going to bed around 12:30 the alarm went off at 3:55. It’s awesome when two people need to get ready to make 6am flights. At the airport I had a medium (very much so caffeinated) Americano with a splash of heavy cream. I read and slept a bit on the plane and was at work by 8:30. At work I grabbed a bacon, mushroom, spinach, and pico de gallo omelet. My throat was scratchy so I opted for some non Paleo friendly OJ.
Lunch is when things got bad. When I’m tired and not prepared it appears I lose all self-control. I didn’t have the patience for the cafeteria lines so I went to Grab N Go, knowing full well nothing in there is Paleo friendly except for the disgusting rubbery hard boiled eggs. I picked up a spicy tuna roll (rice is better than gluten?) then immediately killed that argument by selecting the cheese tray with crackers. Crackers. I don’t even know when the last time I had a cracker was. It tasted like paper. Maybe that’s progress?
I thought I was going to fall asleep in my chair at 2, so instead of doing something constructive I had cheeze-its and a coke. Yes I did. No, I did not take a picture of my complete failure.
I realized the error of my ways and despite being exhausted stopped in at TJs on my way home. I even made a meal plan for the rest of the week. Dinner was one of my go-to week night meals: Thai curry with chicken and a few veggies. I pretended to do the dishes (piled them nicely in the sink) and crawled in bed for 9 hours of blissful sleep.
